Every claim about your idea is tested on its own, and every verdict shows the sources it rests on.

Demand and pain

Problem

Supported

Small US businesses struggle with payroll processing and tax filing often and painfully enough to look for a fix, and say so in their own words.

Reddit posts from small‑business owners describe payroll as time‑consuming, error‑prone, and risky (fines, fear of jail) and they ask the community for help or look for inexpensive services. These unprompted, independent complaints confirm the claim that small US businesses struggle with payroll processing and tax filing and are seeking fixes.

What sets you apart

Competition

Contested

Online payroll services offer small US businesses something incumbents do not already offer and could not easily copy.

The evidence shows that incumbents like ADP, Gusto and Paychex already provide full‑service payroll with automatic federal, state and local tax filing for small businesses, a core feature of the startup idea. Therefore the claimed advantage is not something incumbents lack and could be easily replicated.

How it works

Three minutes, start to finish

  1. 1

    Describe it

A few sentences on what you are building, for whom, and why you. Add context if you have it.

  2. 2

    We research it

Eight checks run in parallel, each searching live sources. A separate judge rules on the evidence.

  3. 3

    You decide

A verdict per check with dated sources, the risks investors will raise, and what to test next.

Questions

Before you run it

Where does the evidence come from?

Each check runs its own searches across the web, news, Reddit and Hacker News. A separate judge reads only what those searches returned and rules on the claim. Every source it cites links to a page the search actually found, with its date.

How reliable is the score?

It separates clearly weak ideas from strong ones in our tests, but it is not exact: each run searches the live web afresh, so the same idea can score about 10 points apart on two runs. Read the verdicts and their sources first, the number second.

What if a run fails?

A run only counts when all eight checks finish and the report is written. Anything less is refunded automatically: your credit, or your free run, goes straight back.

What happens to my idea?

It is used to run your checks and stored with your report so you can come back to it. It is never used to train models, and you can export or delete everything from your account at any time.

Is this investment advice?

No. It is research to inform your own judgement, and it does not replace talking to customers.

Test the idea before you bet on it
